Alicia C's Louisville Shoots Round 1

Hello everyone! The first short round of Alicia C. Photography's shoots in Louisville KY has ended, and the second is on it's way next week... so I thought you may interested in seeing how everything went!! First up, we had the pleasure of working with the stunning and accomplished Brandy Fisher! She is a busy girl and was Miss Kentucky 2010 Runner up! After I created her hair and makeup look, we then headed for the park. She is SUCH a sweetheart and a real a trooper for hiking in heels like no one I have seen. She first set was in a beautiful blush-pink dress of her own and then in one of Soreyda Benedit's lovely gowns for a fantasy look that was breathtaking. The only downside to the day was realizing that it was in fact not too early for mosquitoes. Ulgh! Read more about her experience HERE or add her on FACEBOOK

Our next model was accomplished dancer Tiffany Leake from Lexington Ky. I was very excited to work with her because she is actually a very close relative of mine! The day that the shoot was scheduled for was doomed my mother nature so we had to reschedule for the following day which turned out to be lovely. Aside from the wind - which took ahold of the reflector I was holding and nearly turned me into a kite tail!! After I completed her hair and makeup look, we took a trip down to waterfront park to capture it in a way that hadn't been seen before. Tiffany was a natural at posing and had long legs and arms that were perfect for high fashion. But she had a secret - this was her very first photoshoot. Ever! And she absolutely ROCKED it. I think Miss Leake has quite a future ahead of her. Check her out on FACEBOOK!

...BUT before she went home, we both found the time to do a couple epic sets together. I think after watching two other talented women work their stuff, I was itchin to do something creative... and I had in incredible pair of shoes (of course) that were my inspiration for the idea! LOL. Here is a sneak peak... More to come soon!! Xoxo

Chickens and Pigs, Oh My!

Last week I worked with Jami Guess (J Guess Photography) styling a country/bohemian bridal shoot with the lovely Nisha Abraham. It was the most fabulous, beautiful day EVER! After I finished doing her hair and makeup we headed for the fresh air of Sunny Acres Farm. (Visit Sunny Acre's Facebook!)

There were so many things that we wanted to do and places that we wanted to shoot, but were limited by the ridiculous amount of rain and flooding that had come through a few days prior... so we had to stick to the high grounds. There was an old overgrown red truck in a field that was of great use, beautiful fields of yellow wildflowers, a pig named Emma that followed us everywhere and liked candy, peacocks, a horse named Grandma... and the list goes on....

Nisha was amazing and the first pose she struck in the barn was my favorite of the day I think - Followed by the field of flowers. Even I hopped into a few shots! We both took advantage of the red truck. And of course I couldn't NOT get in a picture with a chicken!! What more high fashion than having a chicken under your arm?! Haha! There was lots of hiking in heels, but overall the day was quite dreamy and we escaped relativity unharmed by insects considering the immense amount of hairspray present! Truly a miracle! I really can't wait to go back and maybe work with some of their beautiful horses next time. Stay tuned for that....

Avant Garde Ballerina Shoot with Leafy

Hola!

On Sunday I did a collaboration with J. Guess Photography and beautiful model Oletha Dawn Roth (affectionately known as Leafy). Not only is she an extremely talented and beautiful model, but she is also skilled in ballet! Jami Guess has strategically planned this shoot for awhile and it was exciting to watch it all come together - ballet slippers and all.

I was brought in to create the hair and makeup for this elaborate look. Leafy was so patient during the whole process which took a few hot minutes, as you can imagine! After blending, teasing, spraying and powdering, the result was a very "avant garde punk ballerina" of sorts. The shoot location was an extremely old (literally falling apart) home in the country. Leafy couldn't have been more brilliant and Jami's shots were amazing.

Thanks guys for letting me be a part of this little adventure!
