A Study in Colour by Andrew Kung Photography

Recently I was delighted when I was asked to model in part of a high energy photoshoot which featured lots of color and textures... as well as the expertise of talented makeup artist Galvin Mason. It was so creative and all the looks were incredible! Here is my shot by photographer Andrew Kung.

Battle of the Sexes on WHAS11 Great Day Live!

OH, the random fun things I get to do sometimes...!! Today on WHAS11's show Great Day LIVE, Angie Fenton hosted a video game 'Battle of the Sexes'. And this battle went down in a giant mobile video game theater called Rolling Video Games! I have to admit - it was WAY cool. There were four flat screens and you could choose any kind of game you wanted! Luckily, my girlfriends Morgan Hancock and Kasey Blackford were awesome enough to duke it out with me, and I met some new friends along the way!

I had some difficulty warming back up to the simple concept of video games. Growing up, my sisters and I weren't allowed to have them and I am pretty sure the last time I tried was back in '95 or thereabouts!! Since then, things have gotten much more complicated, and even require your entire body participation. I found my niche in "The Michael Jackson Experience" on Wii and FINALLY (better late than never!)learned the dance for Thriller, which you will be able to see in the video below! My mom will be so proud ;-)

As far as the actual battle was concerned, I think it is safe to say that the boys can keep their racing games. I nearly made myself motion sick on Mario Cart!! I will take the dancing any day.

Here is the full video of TV segment that was aired live without commercials! Enjoy and don't judge my moooooves!

Here is the silly promo that Ankur Gopal and I filmed for the show the day prior. I love having fun with things!

Thanks girls! You are awesome!

Photoshoot with Miss KY USA 2011 KIA HAMPTON & Miss KY Teen USA STEPHANIE JONES

Over the past month, I have been so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to work with some truly amazing women! Andrew Kung Photography was named the Official Photography of the Miss KY USA Pageant and we are all so very excited!

Earlier this month we held the photoshoot for the cover of the Miss KY USA Pageant Magazine with last year's beautiful titleholders at the historic and breathtaking Seelbach Hilton in downtown Louisville KY. It was an all day affair! We shot so many gorgeous gowns provided by Miss Priss in Lexington Kentucky in several lovely locations throughout the building. Every corner in the historic hotel was a perfect backdrop for stunning shot! And watching these lovely ladies float around all day in all these rhinestone detailed dresses really brought out the girlie girl in me. I just couldn't help it! I couldn't stop myself from squealing and jumping up and down every time they would put on a new gown! It was hard to narrow down the choices... but we managed to capture exactly what we envisioned for the covers and interior fashion shots, and then some.

My responsibilities included creative direction as well as makeup & hair styling, so as you can imagine, I was running all over the place! Miss KY USA 2011 Kia Hampton and Miss KY Teen USA Stephanie Jones were awesome to work with. Not only were they exquisite models, but they were great fun and such an inspiration to get to know! I am so thankful to have met them and I know the state of KY is so proud to have had them represent us this entire past year! Thank you so much ladies for you hard work that day and I hope I get to see you both again soon!

If you or anyone you know loves competing in pageants, be sure to check out wwww.AndrewKung.com or email him at info@andrewkung.com for more information on working with him and his team!

My Personal WORK OUT PLAN

For those of you who ask what I do to stay in shape: I would be lying if I said that I have a strict diet or work our in the gym for three hours daily. I simply cannot do it. My life is too chaotic to handle a routine and quite frankly - I get bored. However, I can find 30 minutes in the morning to wake myself up and stay fit (in the comfort of my bedroom).

Here are three videos which I have committed to doing daily. Each are 10 minutes - and really kick my butt with little effort! It's only 30 minutes a day - so do it with me!

Stretch well before and after. I like to end with 50 to 100 jumping jacks ;)

I complete them in the order listed. I find that it works best for me and gives my legs a break in the middle.

Have fun and let me know your results!
(many thanks to Jennie Vee!)

Photoshoot with Laura Kirkpatrick in LexScene Magazine

This is kind of a blast from the past, so pardon the delay! Last September, I shot a fashion spread with Laura Kirkpatrick (KY's sweetheart from this past season of America's Next Top Model All-Stars) for a local Lexington magazine called LexScene. We highlighted several hotspots and boutiques such as SkyBar, Dudley's, Mod Boutique and Voce' during our all day playday in a GIANT Limo-Bus that took us all over town for the photoshoot. Alicia Calton was our photographer, and I modeled (as well as was in charge of hair and makeup... Whew!). At one point, I even got to put on a gorgeous bridal gown and thousands of dollars worth of diamonds to play bride! What girl doesn't LOVE to do that?!

We all had ENTIRELY too much fun. My favorite moment HAS to be when Laura taught me a trick that "the girls on ANTM used to do to entertain themselves on the limo buses"... She stood me up and we both hung from the rails on the ceiling swinging simultaneously against each other in circles! It was hilarious! There are pictures of this hysterical phenomenon, but I only wish there were video to do it justice! I was so dizzy. Laura, I think we need to get our own bus so we can practice for when we make it an Olympic sport! Haha

I am so happy I got to spend that fantastically fun yet hectic day with one of my dearest friends doing what we love to do - be silly girls! (I am also glad that the driver was able to tolerate us!) I really hope we get to do it again one day.

Here are a few shots from the magazine, and some behind the scene pics too!

MANGO Photography - Savor Life's Sweetest Moments!

LOVE is in the air... and I don't know if you've noticed, but it seems like this holiday season was filled with triple the engagements than usual! I'm not really sure what is considered 'normal', but SO many couples chose recently - and especially New Years Eve - to get engaged! Congratulations to all of you lucky lovebirds! And if you're not one, then odds are that you know a few! Now comes the super fun part... PLANNING!! (No worries, it really CAN be fun!)

The great news is that all angles of your photography & video needs are under control - in every single way. Promise.

MANGO Photography specializes in covering every important event and moment leading up to the most beautiful day of your life and everything thereafter. But FIRST things first: You need engagement photos. And these aren't your parent's portraits anymore. Nor are they the unfocused & lifeless shots that are soon forgotten. These are striking and sharp, true-to-life moments that will last forever just the way you remember them.
Engagement sessions are fun and quirky, sweet and adoring, and sometimes downright ridiculous! They can be a simple reflection of your love - or you can really get creative and reenact your favorite movie scene! There is also a full time hair and makeup stylist to make you look you absolute best for all of your memorable moments.

MANGO creates timeless Bridal portraits that will capture the bride to be as the glowing celebrity she is, flawless and complete wedding coverage (including epic documentary videos by Visionspire) and fun family photos for everyone to love. Book a memory-making day for yourself and your family soon!

The ROSE ISLAND PHOTO-VENTURE!

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to take advantage of one of the most beautiful days ever in the best way possible! I climbed aboard The Sarah Marie and Cap'n Steve Fante took our motley crew on a fantastic excursion up the Ohio River to a place with an awesome history that has been forgotten for years and has almost entirely disappeared: Rose Island.

This 'photoventure' included photographers Andrew Kung, Allie Filley and Jordan Cox. We frolicked through the woods and ruins, witnessed a breathtaking sunset and the brave donned a HUGE rope swing into the river (video coming soon!). While on the island We did a magical photoshoot in some beautiful historical areas.

Here is a brief video that is the intro of the full length one coming soon. Enjoy and stay posted for the full length feature!
